We welcome you to the Daily Inspirations Program by Abraham Sekhar. Today we read Genesis chapters 24 and 25 from the Old Testament and Matthew chapter 9:1-15 from the New Testament.
In Genesis chapters 24 and 25, Abraham sends his servant to find a bride for his son, Isaac. The servant, as instructed, went to Abraham’s country, to his master’s family and from there took a wife for Isaac.
Isaac is projected as the bridegroom here.
In Matthew 9:1-15, John’s disciples questioned Jesus about why His disciples did not fast. Jesus told John’s disciples that they did not need to fast as long as the bridegroom was with them. Jesus refers to Himself as the bridegroom here.
In the Old Testament, father Abraham found a bride for Isaac. We know that Father God is preparing a bride for His Son, Jesus, the bridegroom, and that Jesus is preparing His bride, the Church, to be blameless, spotless, and ready.
Father God, we thank You. We commit ourselves to You. We ask You that during these days of waiting, to please work in our lives in such a way that we obey Your commandments and walk without any blemish.
Prepare us for our bridegroom, Jesus.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
