Daily Inspirations by Abraham Sekhar Day 14

We welcome you to the Daily Inspirations Program by Abraham Sekhar. Today we read Genesis chapters 31 and 32 from the Old Testament and Matthew chapter 12:1-23 from the New Testament. In Genesis 31 and 32, Jacob was blessed during his 14 years of stay at his father-in-law’s place. He was married to Leah and Rachel and had children, and became very wealthy. Although Jacob was at his father-in-law’s place, God was going to take him back to his brother, Esau, and his father, Isaac. Jacob decided to leave Laban and prepared to meet his brother Esau. On the way, after Jacob was left alone, a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day and when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of Jacob’s hip and so Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him, and Jacob became a limping person. After the struggle, Jacob received the blessed name Israel for he struggled with God and with men and had prevailed, and Jacob’s 12 sons i.e., the 12 tribes multiplied and became a nation. Matthew 12:20 says, “A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory;” In times of temptations and trails, one may reach a place of disappointment and discouragement. Jesus says that He will comfort the ones who are already bruised and burned and take them to a greater place. Matthew chapter 7:7 says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Sometimes while praying, we struggle in asking God. We must learn to ask. If we do not ask, we do not receive. Father God, we surrender ourselves and believe in Your Word. We ask that Your promises be fulfilled in our lives. Please bless and encourage Your people with Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen..
