We welcome you to the Daily Inspirations Program by Abraham Sekhar. Today we read Genesis chapters 33 and 34 from the Old Testament and Matthew chapter 12:24-50 from the New Testament. Genesis chapters 33 and 34 are after the account of Jacob receiving the blessed name ‘Israel’ and his confrontation with Esau, his brother. Esau wasn’t wholly blessed because the blessings were given to Jacob. Jacob and his descendants, his 12 sons, daughter, servants, flock, and everything dwelt in Canan land where an incident took place. From the neighboring area of the land, a young man saw Jacob’s daughter, desired her, and abused her sexually. The young man told his father about it and a compromise was almost made. Two brothers were unhappy about it since their sister had been defiled. They took revenge by killing the young man and his father. Vengeance belongs to God. Many times, people react in the flesh. This doesn’t help and only ends in complications. Hence, it is better to be patient and allow God to work and take vengeance on our behalf. In Matthew chapter 12:24-50, Jesus spoke about the tree and its fruit. Every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. Every tree shall be known by the fruit it bears, good or bad. We need to inspect whether the fruit we bear is good or bad. Asking God to intervene in the situation results in a better conclusion that bears good fruit and by it, one will be called a good tree. In all situations, we must seek God, study the Word, and learn as the Holy Spirit inspires and guides us on the action to be taken to bear good fruit. Let us be people bearing good fruit. Father God, we thank You. May we be inspired by the Holy Spirit to bear good fruit. The fruits of the Spirit are all good. We desire to bear good fruit. So, enable us to wait, meditate on your Word, and pray. Direct us on the type of action to be taken in response to different things that happen in our life. Lead and guide us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
