We welcome you to the Daily Inspirations Program by Abraham Sekhar. Today we read Genesis chapters 35 and 36 from the Old Testament and Matthew chapter 13 from the New Testament. In Genesis chapter 35, God commands Jacob to go up to Bethel and dwell there. Bethel was the place where God appeared to Jacob when he fled from the face of his brother. Jacob instructed his household and all who were with him to put away foreign gods and to purify themselves. He built an altar there. God appeared to Jacob again and blessed him. God told him that his name would not be called Jacob anymore, but his name would be called Israel. God renewed the promise of the covenant that He had given Jacob before. God further renews the promise and blesses him and his descendants. God never forgets His promises. In Matthew 13, Jesus taught in parables about the kingdom of God. To what extent is God’s rule established in our lives? Do we direct our steps in accordance with His Word? The kingdom of God is within us if the rule of God is seen in our lives. Father God, we thank You and praise You. Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to You. Please direct us and help us remember the Word of God. May the Lord Jesus’ rule be seen in our lives and help us bear the fruits of His kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
