We welcome you to the Daily Inspirations Program by Abraham Sekhar. Today we read Genesis chapters 47, 48, 49, and 50 from the Old Testament and Matthew chapter 15:29-39 from the New Testament. In the last four chapters of Genesis, we see the way God brought Jacob to Egypt when Joseph was the Prime Minister there. Jacob found favor, and this was because of Pharaoh’s relationship with Joseph. They were given green land, and a place to cultivate and to keep the flock. They also started multiplying to be thousands and thousands. From this, we learn that God made provision for them back when they were in Canan, amid a famine. God provided for His chosen people, Israel, by sending Joseph ahead to become the Prime Minister. The governments of most countries in the world are not led by those who acknowledge Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, and the few who do, find it very difficult to establish Godly authority. Let’s remind ourselves that just the way God provided for His chosen people, Israel, by blessing them with food, shelter, and good land even under the rule of Pharaoh, that He can provide for us too. We see a similar situation in the New Testament, where Jesus provided food for those who were with Him with just seven loaves. He fed more than four thousand hungry people. Whatever the circumstances may be, the ones chosen by God are always provided for. So, let us believe our living God who provides for us. Father God, we thank You. Whatever be the situation, Lord, You are Jehovah-Jireh, our provider. Provide for us just the way You provided for the people of Israel under the heathen government. Help us to study Your Word and have faith in You and know that You are our provider in all circumstances. In Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen.
