Daily Inspirations by Abraham Sekhar Day 2

We welcome you to the Daily Inspirations Program by Abraham Sekhar. Today, we read Genesis
chapters 3, 4, and 5 from the Old Testament and Matthew chapter 2 from the New Testament.
In Genesis chapters 3, 4, and 5, after the glorious account of the creation of mankind on earth, man with his free will chose to disobey God. God took Adam and put him in the garden of Eden. The serpent deceived Eve and she ate the fruit. Eve gave it to her husband, and he ate. Thus, they sinned. They were sent out of the garden of Eden. They had to work hard to produce food. Cain, the firstborn of Adam and Eve, was jealous of his brother Abel because the Lord respected Abel and his offering but, He did not respect Cain and his offering and, Cain rose against his brother Abel and killed him. From this, we learn that the first generation, the first man and woman, disobeyed God. They sinned and so did their son, Cain.
In Matthew chapter 2, after Jesus was born, wise men from the East came to worship Him. On their way, the wise men met Herod the king, and asked him about the Child. King Herod naturally felt jealous and wanted to kill Jesus, so he ordered to kill all the male children, who were in Bethlehem and its districts, from two years old and under. To protect Jesus, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream telling him to take the young Child and His mother to Egypt. The obedience of Joseph and Mary was first seen in taking Jesus to Egypt and then in taking Him to Nazareth. God’s plan of protecting Jesus was fulfilled.
We must be obedient to what God tells us. By the Word of God, we receive grace and are protected.
Whatever the situation may be, God can protect us. We need to know and understand that God is great and that He always fulfills His plans.

Father God, we thank You and praise You. We thank You for Your Word. Give us the grace to study Your Word and meditate on it. Help us to be obedient to Your Word.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
